A member of the Steichen Unit, Lieutenant Charles E. Kerlee of Los Angeles, whose able camera has preserved for "the record" activities during combat action in the Pacific, steps down from the wing of an Avenger torpedo bomber after photographing the raid on Wake (Oct 5-6, 1943). Using two K-20 cameras, Kerlee squeezed in pehind the pilot and stood for four hours to het his pictures. Photo released November, 1943.
