"The U.S. Frigate Sabine, rescuing a battalion of U.S. Marines from the transport Governor" On the 2nd Novr. 1861 off the Coast of South Carolina the Sabine fell in with the Transport Governor, in a sinking condition and took from her a Battalion of Marines under command of Major Reynolds together with the Officers and crew of the Steamer, amounting in all to over 400 Souls./ To Captain Cadwalader Ringgold, the Officers and crew of the Sabine, this Print is respectfully dedicated/by their Obedient Servant/E.
