Crewmen on board the USS Essex (CV-9) seek diversion from the monotony of their work and the terror of combat in the written word. Unfortunately, the two Sailors are identified only as "photographers Bennett and Collins", and the date is between August 1944 and June 1945. Photo was featured in the January 2011 issue of Proceedings magazine.
