A 30 MW industrial gas turbine, the FT8 engine is derived from the hightly successful JT8D turbofan and is aerodynamically coupled with a multistage free turbine. The engine is comact, capable of using a variety of fuels and boasts a cycle efficiency of 39%, making it one of the most fuel-efficient gas turbines of any size.
