Participants in the 5 Mile Aardvark Amble take off at Smithfield Beach on Sunday. Runners and walkers alike had a delightful morning to race along the Delaware River. Proceeds benefit the National Park Service's Teacher to Ranger to Teacher Program. 234 runners and around 150 walkers took part in the event. 'The feedback been excellent. Everything clicked and I think everybody has a good time,' said race director Dick Haines. The race was the first of its kind in the DWGNRA and Haines hopes to make it an annual event. Organizers are still totalling up the money raised for the Park Service program.
