Illusions Unlimited artists, including Doug Hilden, painted the Perry Penguin logo on the ice at Crown Center Ice Terrace Wednesday, Oct. 28th. The logo and the surrounding snowflakes are painted on during the process of laying ice, which takes roughly 24 hours. Water is sprayed onto the surface every hour, allowing it to freeze in thin layers. After the painting of snowflakes and penguin, the icing resumes. The ice rink opens on Nov. 6th.
