The west wing of the station, left, is separated from the main part of the building, as workers continue to prepare the historic former Sturtevant railroad depot for its move from the Canadian Pacific railroad tracks in downtown Sturtevant to Linwood Park in Caledonia , Wednesday July 29, 2009. The depot, which dates to about 1900, closed in August, 2006, when the new Amtrak depot was dedicated in Sturtevant. The historic building is being cut into three sections in preparation for the move which is now anticipated to happen in late August. Each section is about 32 feet wide, 25 feet high, and 40 feet long, and weighs an estimated 55,000-60,000 pounds. / Mark Hertzberg mhertzberg@journaltimes.com Buy this photo at jtreprints.com
