The new Ballet Idaho unveils its production of "The Nutcracker" this weekend. Tchaikovsky's holiday classic has been a tradition in the Treasure Valley for years. Now, you can experience your first "Nutcracker" all over again, with this newly designed production, with original choreography by Peter Anastos and a fresh adaptation of the E.T.A. Hoffmann story.
It will features more than 100 area children in a variety of roles, dancing life-size dolls, waltzing flowers, the beautiful Snow Queen and Sugar Plum Fairy (danced by Heather Hawk, pictured, and Phyllis Rothwell Affrunti).
Members of the Boise Philharmonic will perform the timeless score.
Ballet Idaho and the Velma V. Morrison Center will be collecting non-perishable food items for the Idaho Foodbank.
